Is it graduation day yet?

Jan 19, 2018 | blog

Monday officially kicked of my first week as a student in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. What a week… going back to school, taking notes and learning new things. Eeeek, I actually have a quiz! I’m clearly in the right place, though. The lessons so far have been blend of factual and spiritual.

My intention this year is to explore what it would mean to coach the whole person to help you get to the version of healthy and happy you want. Cause it’s really different for everyone, and you’re entitled to feel good.

I think it will be important to show how what you’re consuming, both food and in life, impacts overall health and happiness. What are your inputs? What are you feeding yourself from a nutritional perspective and outside stimuli? It absolutely makes a difference!

One of the things that makes me really successful in my creative and design business is the ability to take the jumbled mass of things that businesses want to get done and break that down into manageable, reasonable steps rooted in intention. I {heart} bullet point lists and deadlines. Plus, I’m creative and like to solve problems.

I want to do that for individual people, too. This is about relaxing into new thought patterns that will result in different actions and decisions. I take the all the thoughts and information and guilt and tenderly get to the crux of what’s going on, so you can have the health you want. Basically, I’m taking those same skill sets and using them for individuals… it’s kind of like personal branding centered on health.

I don’t even think this has to come from a place of being totally unhappy. Small changes can actually have a huge impact. I think we get scared that when we hear something about food, we’re already thinking about what we’re going to miss out on – the birthday cake, the donut, etc.

Stop thinking about the lack because that will hold you back. Don’t say no to the donut, say yes to more water!

{Sigh}… anyway, they say in the program that this year will be transformative for me. And the irony is that I feel nervous about that! Here I am encouraging people to try something new and in my own life, it’s making me feel uneasy because of the unknowns. But I’m ok with that! It’s kinda fun.

One of my favorite quotes is by Anais Nin: “There are very few human beings who receive the truth, complete and staggering, by instant illumination. Most of them acquire it fragment by fragment, on a small scale, by successive developments, cellularly, like a laborious mosaic.”

Today is Jan 19, 2018… graduation is January 22, 2019. So much of me wants to know everything I’m going to learn right NOW. But I will let it unfold like a mosiac. I have so much to offer people ~ you? ~ and, I’m so excited to be able take my knowledge and give people hope … because we all have the capacity and wherewithal to have a say in live we want.
